The obvious conclusion, as was pointed out in the ensuing thread: we are being visited by Wookiees.

Wow. Protip for all your earth-sensitive tree huggers out there.
Don't ever, and I mean *ever*, buy another DVD ever again. Especially not if it's sitting in one of those big cardboard display stands. [I'm looking at you, Disney.]

All I can say is: "I hope to everloving earth-goddess that they're recycling even a *fraction* of that shit.

Oh yeah. I've seen the process from stamped disc on spindle [Made in Mexico, in case you were wondering] to your hands.

Also, you may consider sanitizing your DVD before even attempting to pick it off the shelf. Because by the time it gets to you, it's been touched in some way, by about 50 different people. Double if it's from one of those cardboard display stands. And no, I'm really not kidding about the 50 people.

I'm beginning to understand why a DVD costs 18 bucks.
[Hint: Could it be because they're shipping nothing but air?]

Disenchanted spinner of syllables

A sandwich made of gluten free dried fruit/nut bread with crunchy peanut butter, home made cherry jam, flavored marshmellows, and slightly overripe banana... is amazing.

Going with what 'might' taste good is SO worth it.

I'm a weasel.

It took my mother 19.5 years to stop calling the youngest baby girl in the family by my name.  She is now calling the 6-month-old by the 6-year-old's name.  *sigh*

Also?  I am SO not ready for kids yet.

*snerk*  We all go through it, Norq.  My grandmother calls me by my mother's name, my grandfather's name, the cats' names...

Adorkable.

My grandma does pretty well, considering how many of us she has to keep straight...  I've only ever been called by one of my aunts' names, as a for-instance.

My great-grandmother used to call me "girl". As in, she couldn't remember any of our names, so she'd refer to us by our gender.

And she'd mess up mine.  Boring

The Sociopathic Queen Of Evil

My grandmother once called me "Alex" and it made me crazier.  I asked her if I looked anything like a 13 year old 5 foot tall Korean boy and she just looked at me.

A lot of people in my mom's family call me "Michele", my mom's name, to the point that sometimes I'll just answer.

My father has a cycle... he calls me by his mother's name, my mothers name, my mother's mothers name, we go through his sisters, we toss in a few of my mum's sisters for effort, my sisters name, occasionally his grand daughter's  name... he looks at me blankly and then gets my name out.

I get called by my sister's name all the time.  I don't know if she ever gets mistaken for me though.
Sometimes Gramma will call me Samantha, which is really odd since, to my knowledge, there are no Samantha's in our family.  No cousins, aunts, nothing.

My nieces get called MY name a lot, which amuses me.  Sometimes poor Alex also gets called my name, which makes me feel bad for him, but since Grandy died, that doesn't happen that much.

I finally realized the other day, that I am going to die a virgin.
It doesn't disturb or bother me. It's just strange to realize.

Also, I like driving home from work, because it's back roads through the countryside/farmland/suburb border, and those are exactly the kind of small little one-floor houses I'd live in. With my adopted daughters. And my two girlfriends/wives. And half-dozen kittens. And my wolf.

....What? A man isn't allowed to keep a wolf?
