Ebook reader is back in my hands and working again. And just in time for next week's business trip, too. Yay for not having to lug half a dozen books on an intercontinental flight!

"Big damn heroes, sir!"

That's why you just take ONE book, Gudy!  I've discovered that The Silmarillion is my go-to book for long journeys of all kinds.

Or you can be non-crazy and take a selection. Tongue

^^ That.  Right there.  Hooray for Gazer and Ni!

Also, I have the next two days off!  Hooray, sleep!

Also also, Legal Weed will continue to be legal.  Now I just have to find some so I can see what it tastes like.
It's only a 7 hour drive straight down I-5 from the Portland area... 5 if you know when it's safe to speed.

Indesign is coooool.  Cheesy

And that webcomic kicked so much ass... I can't wait to forget about it, then catch up on the archives in a few months!

WoW is fun, and coffee is god.

I feel faintly nauseous, but generally good. Stressed, but excited. Finally, some change. I'll feel a lot worse about it tomorrow, and the next day... but in the coming weeks, I bet I'll feel happier.

1) Girflriend got a job, part-time, but will be making almost as much as I am, and I'm full-time!  (yes, this makes me happy.  Her hourly wage is considerably more than mine, and that's bloody fine, especially if she gets the job when it goes to full-time in a few months)

2) Okay, so I found Silent Hill 3, game and soundtrack, for a penny on EBay after i up and bought it for around $23 on that same site.  Y'know what?  I still don't care all that much.  Why?  Because I'm still gonna have it!

3) I've got the current highest bid for the original Silent Hill for the PSOne.  Sure, there are still a few days left, but damn it, I want the complete series!  I've already got the fifth one fully paid and pre-ordered.

But still, that I found a few copies on EBay that weren't going for stupid expensive makes me quite happy either way.

The first one, however, is the biggest one.  Best part?  She had her interview at the job-placement agency yesterday, and four hours later she had a job.  Sweet!

Mrs. Of Ni

Day two on the job with my new company.  So far, perks have included two breakfasts, two lunches, one incredibly fun music session (team-building, but well-done), and an Ipod nano.  Hooray for good timing - right before the annual meeting - and hooray for a company that does SWAG right!

Aaaaannnd... The house inspection went well. Found several small deficiencies, most of which I knew about, and one bigger one, which I've got a plan to fix - now to see if the bank we're buying from will give us an allowance for fixing it.

The only paper book I have that would last me a one week business trip including two intercontinental flights would be the one-volume LotR. The Silmarillion, awesome as it is, is too lightweight by far. And since I have this thing about spacing my re-reads at least half a decade or so apart lest I can sing along with the text, that just doesn't cut it. And because I *much* prefer to travel light with only cabin baggage, schlepping enough paper to last me a week is also rather suboptimal. Which includes said single-volume LotR - that thing is *not* easy on the wrists.

Which is why the ebook reader is a godsend for me: all the books I could want in one single convenient package no larger, or much heavier at that, than a DVD box.
