Slack.

I've just seen this comic referenced several places around the forum so I thought a thread would be in order.

I don't read it and since I don't play MMORPGs I can't see myself getting into it, but I might be able to be convinced.

It's worth reading just for Richard.  And well, it really has nothing at all to do with the MMO it's very loosely based upon.

I never play MMORPGs and I find the comic hilarious, so I definitely recommend that you read it.

Yeah, I don't play any WoW, but I still get at least 95% of it.
A little bit of Warcraft 3 experience will help fill in some of the background as to why the characters act the way they do, but it's not necessary.

All you really need to know is that in the land of fantasy gaming/televeision, these guys would be aligned with "the bad guys".

Richard, well, he's an evil undead warlock. Nuff said.
He's pure evil. No questions about that.

The other characters are in that hazy grey area of only really being bad because they're not aligned with "the Good Guys", who for the purposes of the comic, are the bad guys.

I hadn't played the expansion to Warcraft 3, so when I started reading, I was a little confused as to why the elf was supposed to be "an evildoer" as Richard told him. Uber-brief background: he's a blood elf; the elves used to be Good Guys, but then they all got slaughtered, and the ones who were left kinda went a little batty, so they're not friends with the Good Guys anymore.

The only thing that baffles me is the dwarf who's aligned herself with them.

Yeah, actually, good point.
I forgot to mention my mild confusion over her alignment with them.

I'll have to re-read the part where she signs on with them to see if I can grasp the dynamics a bit better there.

So far she doesn't seem perturbed by any of their violent proclivities though, and you'd think that even if she figured they were "the Good Guys" she'd have raised an eyebrow by now, especially over Richard.

Maybe she's just a real bad-ass little dwarf.

When my warrior reaches level 70 (I am this close to 40 right now, I'm sure a couple of hours after work will see me there), I'm going to adopt "For pony!" as my PvP warcry.

Dude. The guy who does Richard's voice in the animated short, did a full-length Dick Rolled mp3.

I saw that last night. Cheesy  He's also doing Richard's voice for the feature-length animation.  Oh god I can't wait for that!

So any clue what these might be going for price-wise?

I make shiny things, you need them.

This comic has some sexual imagery.

I'll take American History for $2000 please, Alex.

It does?  I didn't see anything that could even be construed as PG-13...
