There's a great subforum over on my comic site, Drunk Duck, where people ask questions about how to do certain things like, say, draw fire, or the sky at night, and people give them help with their preferred method, or reccommend a favourite tutorial. I've found it remarkably useful, even though I've never posted a question of my own there.

So here you go. Any great tricks you've found, art wise, or any questions you have on how to do a certain thing can go in here. Smile

Here's my tip- Pretty much all through my next comic storyline I'll be needing to have a dramatic looking night time sky in the background, and someone posted a really easy way to do it in Photoshop. I use it a lot in this strip.

Basically what you do is colour your background layer black, then create a new layer over the top and select Filter--->Render---->Clouds. Then take a reeeeaallllly soft-brush eraser in a very large size, and gently erase some of the clouds showing the black underneath. Then, go to Filter---->Render---->Difference Clouds. Hooray! Sprinkle some stars in the spaces between the clouds, if you like. The ones I put in that strip are way too big, particularly in the last panel, but hey, I was rushing. ^_^

I think this weight was a gift, like I had to see what I could lift.
