... I would say I don't get it.

But I think I do... I just didn't find it funny.

Sorry TGU.

Good luck at learning not to be crap and figuring out how to commiciate through a comic medium!

I believe I can give further critique.

The joke is twofold: Many illegal Mexican immagrants take low-class jobs, such as working as a gardener, so we have come the expect a gardener (especially one working for an upper-middle class or higher household) to be a Mexican. Additionally, it asserts that some people have a hard time finding a practical application for a college degree, and thus find themselves only marginally (if at all) better off than if they hadn't gone to college. 'snot the best joke, I agree, but it's not completely crap. I think it would be better if redrawn better, as you plan to, as poor/quick art tends to detract from a joke.

I say keep trying; with improved art, the comic should be better. Also, as can be seen with Ash, jokes of the type you used are likely to turn off a not insignificant amount of readers.

A little rough, but good, all things considered. I imagine learning how to use a new drawing tool will be a bit difficult, but a tablet should be similar enough to paper to pick up relatively quickly, right? I look forward to seeing more experimentation.

kyoot!

Also, Tora: Nice job overall for someone just learning to use a tablet. Man, those things are weird to use at first...

This is a friend's character from City of Heroes, if anyone plays that. Her name is Jezebelle Blaze, she's an illusion/radiation emission controller, which does not matter but what does matter is that I figured out how to (mostly) properly use the blend tool in multiple layers in GIMP. ^_^ You can see that in her cape and the pink backround.

Yes, actually, it was.  It'll probably be a while before I start honestly putting strips out for people to read, because I still need to practice drawing the charcters - I've always sucked at drawing people.  It will be colored in the future, too; I just wanted to get that one off fast.  And it obviously suffered because of that.  As for the joke...well, it seemed a lot funnier when I was tired.  I probably won't revisit it.

*gazes longingly at Tora and Tamsin's pictures*  I wish I was computer literate like you guys!

Well done, Mach. Good stuff. I think you really managed to capture movement in these sketches.

And on a purely 'I'm a child of the '80s note', I find them reminiscent of '80s characters (specifically characters from Transformers and GI Joe).

Why, thanks.

The Circuit Breaker's armored suit (its a suit, yeah) pulls inspirations from Samus Aran's bounty hunter suit and Ultimate Iron Man's tricked-out combat suit.
And Wild Achillea is violent, impatient girl (yeah its a girl), she's incredibly loud and not incredibly subtle.
You know.  Kinda like Cobra Commander.

So hey you're not that far off.

Gonna be working on this boy and girl a little more.

I take pictures. Film is my prefered medium but I had my digicam tonight and felt inspired. There is a lot about these pictures I like, but at the same time there's a lot I wish I could have done but alas my digicam is point and shoot.

Another comicshop. Once again, only Osaka's dialogue has been changed.

Second half, same deal with only Osaka's speech being any different:

Oddly enough, these two strips are sequential in the manga.
