Potent Potables

Border Patrol:
  1 1/2 oz white tequila
  1/2 oz maple syrup
  juice of 1 lime
  1 dash Angostura bitters
  splash Pernod (or aqua vit or absinthe, etc)

Pour Pernod into cocktail glass; coat and discard excess.  Shake tequila, syrup, lime juice, bitters with ice.  Pour into cocktail glass; garnish with lime wheel.
