Really, what other choice is there? You tell yourself you're taking this one for the team; you tell yourself you've got to do it to save her; you tell yourself a dozen rational excuses. Then, you throw them all out the metaphorical window and grab Zahnnie.

You push her up against the doors to the elevator and kiss her passionately. She pulls you close, wrapping her arms around you and grabbing your ass for good measure. Startled, you jump a little and look at her; she winks at you and grabs your hand, putting it on her breast. Your brain overloads; this is too hot to be real, you are totally making out with Zahnnie! You stop thinking and just start snogging.

When the elevator doors finally open, you nearly fall in with her. She squeezes past the startled servers trying to push their carts out, dragging you with her, and slams the "door close" button as soon as they wheel themselves hastily out.

Your hand is down the front of her dress and hers is slipping under your waistband by the time the elevator doors shut with a loud chirping ding that shakes you out of your mindless lust. You take a deep breath, consider keeping going, and then (with no small regret) delicately extricate yourself from the tangle of dress straps.

"So," you start awkwardly as she rearranges herself and fusses with her hair, "I'm..."

"The new recruit, right?" She looks up at you and smiles. "Yeah, I guessed that much. Thanks for the... umm... non-standard rescue, there." She winks, and you feel yourself blushing violently.

"Er, sure..."

"Okay, I hit 37 and B3 both," she gestures towards the panel of buttons. "There's a spot on 37 where we can go out the window and zipline over to a neighboring building. Or we could head down to the basement and get out through the tunnels. Front exit is definitely covered, so we shouldn't even try there. Either other option is about the same likelihood of trouble... hmmm... heads or tails..." She pauses, lost in thought, then looks over at you decisively. "What do you think? You've made some pretty good calls so far..."

The elevator door dings again and opens on floor 37. It's a long hallway with some nice potted plants; no lights are on, so you can't see any detail.

"Decide quick," Zahnnie urges.

* The whole winging through the air on ziplines always looked pretty awesome on Batman, how can you say no to that?
* Heights are dangerous! Just hit the basements, much less room for error there.

I'd like to know why I was wearing a pantsuit to a fancy party! 

YAY! an update.  And I'm very happy that you can include yourself in such a minuscule made-up statistic.  ziplines mean lots of wind in your hair and sometimes an unexpectedly sudden stop.  That could definitely be fun.

Meh, this is my busy season at work. I don't have nearly enough goof-off time right now.
