((I am worried about that shield. Wearing a saxon helmet and a viking shield is just going to get us killed by EVERYONE we meet.))

Before we go south, let's examine that patch of turned-over earth.  Could it be a grave, or a place where somebody buried some treasure?

Get voting, guys! I'm going to need a decision between "ignore the patch of earth" and "examine the patch of earth". ^_^

This is standard D&D procedure - if the GM mentions a patch of "turned-over earth", then it's important and should be investigated carefully!  ^_^

Pixie, you rock.  For some reason this thread has me wanting to play D&D again... meeting at the inn as 1st level characters, then going out into the wilderness to find quests and slay monsters, everything.  It's awesome

:D I'm thinking of it more like an old adventure game than D&D-- i.e. you're much less likely to die! ;)

I vote for that too. Use our helmet to dig it up.

Totally >examine patch of earth.

By the way, the insides of a grue's digestive tract are a 'orrible sight to see.

You poke at the patch of disturbed soil. Your half-hearted efforts reveal.... a small hoard of gold coins!

I want to see Pixie draw the Serious Saxon doing a victory dance.

That works!  And no, I never played the sierra adventure games.  At least I don't think I did.

Yay gold coins!  Let's gather those up, and then continue south.

One of the Monkey Islands even pokes fun at that at one point, where if you stand on the edge of a cliff you fall off and the dreaded death screen comes up. >_<

Anyway. Hide one of the gold coins in your shoe, in case of bandits.

You take the gold coins. They are added to your inventory.

You dance the most victorious of dances!
