I think people may see a difference between stuff like sitting on the cow, or messing with the blacksmith AFTER you've bought a sword- things that DON'T derail the mission, VS creeping out/pissing off the one lady in town who knows where to find the place you've been staying, which very well might.

Maybe some of us have played too many text based adventure games. My natural instinct is to give random nonsensical input to illicit hilarious responses because that is what I always do in text games.

Such as when you're a thief and you attempt to increase lockpick skills via "pick nose".... Usually, it works. "Success, you now have an open nose." Occasionally, however, things go very, very wrong.... Brain hemmorage-y wrong.

I just read this whole thread, loling all the way. Apparently one of the major figures of pre-Conquest England had a period where he auditioned as a village idiot.

I didn't play the Sierra text adventures because I played the Infocom text adventures. This whole idea of having pictures is intruiging.
