Slack.

So who's using Google's new web browser?  What do you think of it?  I'm kind of shying away at the moment due to Google's kind of lax attitude regarding user privacy, but I may be swayed over to it at some point.  Right now, though, I'm happy with Firefox and have no intention to switch.

I do have to say, though, that I like the idea of having a task manager for each tab so that you can close any that are being resource hogs.  It would be nice of Firefox could incorporate that functionality.

It's a joke. Laugh.

I have it installed.  It's ok.  Just another KHTML/Safari clone with a different UI.

User agent string:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/525.13 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/0.2.149.27 Safari/525.13

I'll take American History for $2000 please, Alex.

Nope, I like Firefox; unless Google's browser coughs up 20 dollar bills every time I use it, there's probably not much that's going to get me to switch.

I like SeaMonkey. I don't like Google's attitude about user privacy, and I don't see a must have feature in Chrome that would entice me to switch. Hence, I'm staying with SeaMonkey. *shrug*

I'm happy. See, I'm smiling!

It's not thrilling me. It doesn't do anything so well that I'm willing to move off of Firefox, and it's got problems with a lot of instances of Flash.

This is where I say something clever.

Well it's fastish (though some of that is just prefetch) and I like some of the things like the combined search/url.

But it's missing all the ad-ons which make me like Firefox so much, like noscript and web mail trackers. Also, I seem to have no options regarding updating, now that I've installed it googleupdate.exe is running itself on start up, (and continuing to sit as a running process, even though I've not run chrome at all lately) which irritates me. Especially since I don't see an easy way to shut it off. I don't like that I may have to kill it from msconfig or something similar. I should have control over updates.

Overall, it seems to have less user control than Firefox does anyhow, though I grant you it does not do that stupid 'new tab steals focus for cookie dialogue if you have cookie permissions set to ask every time' thing.

It doesn't support noscript-like entities because of the fact it prefetches.. do you really want a little bar to pop up on the bottom of your page saying 2193 script items were blocked on 37 pages because you made a google image search with less than six must have terms?

I only have one question about Chrome that needs to be answered before I consider switching:

Does It Have Adblock Plus?

No, in fact I want to turn the prefetch off like I did on FF. I don't like my browser advance visiting every link I might possibly click. It should go where I tell it to, not freaking everywhere else like a spastic and overexcited puppy.

Also, dunno about you but my noscript does none of that bar thing. It's little icon changes colors, and if I want to know what's going on I can click on it.
