Most forums provide some markup you can use to fancy up your posts. Zeta Channel provides a superset of the standard Bulletin Board Code (BBCode) tags, including some very useful ones you may not have noticed. We reccomend reading this guide through, just to make sure you know how to use these tags.

This is a list of the most useful of the BBCode tags Zeta Channel implements. If you have any questions about these or other tags, reply in this thread.

     Displays the expanded meaning of an abbreviation on mouseover, such as eg.

• [acronym=Mobile Army Surgical Hospital]MASH[/acronym]

     Displays the expanded meaning of an acronym on mouseover.

• [b]text[/b]

     Makes text bold.

• [i]text[/i]

     Makes text italic.

• [u]text[/u]

     Makes text underlined.

• [s]text[/s]

     Makes text strikethrough

• [left]text[/left]

     Makes text left-aligned.

• [center]text[/center]

     Makes text center-aligned.

• [right]text[/right]

     Makes text right-aligned.

• [hr]

     Inserts a horizontal rule, like this one:

     Controls the size of text.

• [font=Verdana]text[/font]

     Controls the font face used.

• [flash=200,200]http://somesite/somefile.swf[/flash]

     Includes a flash file in your post. The numbers after the equal sign are the width and height of the flash file, in pixels.

     Includes an image in your post.

     Inserts a link into your post.

     Inserts a mailto: link in your post.

     Inserts an FTP link into your post.

    Inserts a link that opens in the same window as the post.

     Formats enclosed text as a superscript.

• [sub]text[/sub]

     Formats enclosed text as a subscript.

• [code]code[/code]

     Inserts a chunk of computer code into your post.

• [quote]text[/quote] or [quote=Author link=http://somesite/]text[/quote]

     Inserts a quotation into your post.

• [nobbc][b][i]text[/i][/b][/nobbc]

     Ignores all BBCode enclosed in the tag.

• [wiki]topic[/wiki] or [wiki=topic]some text[/wiki]

     Inserts a Wikipedia search into your posts.

• [google]term[/google] or [google=term]some text[/google]

     Inserts a Google search into your posts.

     Inserts a list into your posts.

Of course next time in a less blatantly obnoxious way.  How big is the acronym box?  Could we maybe use it for spoilers instead?  So you put Spoiler into posts instead of Rot13 or whatever?
