I'm putting this here, since the cast page on the actual site is still having issues.

GROG CAST!

The Crew:

Captain Ridley
James W. Ridley is somewhat new to the captaining business, having only recently aquired his first ship through a combination of luck and... well, just luck, really. His goal to find the lost treasure of Captain Wednesday is hindered only by his stupidity, lack of leadership qualities and general incompetence. Despite this, he is innocent, kind-hearted and likeable.

Matey
William "Matey" Ward is Captain Ridley's right hand man, and it's a good thing, too. He makes up for the captain's blundering uselessness with impressive seamanship skills, a level head and a steady personality which generally sees the crew through the worst of their troubles. He went to sea to gather a fortune with which to gain permission to marry the woman he loves, as her father will not let her marry a poor man.

Nikita
Nikita originally came aboard the ship disguised as a man called Nick. However, everyone but the captain immediately saw though her false beard. She is good friends with Matey, as the two of them tend to have to most sensible ideas, and similar frustrations about the rest of the crew.

Montague
Montague is a highly trained chef from one of the best restaurants in Paris. He had a bright future ahead of him, until a scandal involving the accidental poisoning of several of France's most important and well-loved people. Now on the run, he has been forced to turn to a life as a cook on board a pirate ship. It's not the life he's cut out for- good ingredients are hard to come by at sea, and a crew of hungry pirates tend to have simple tastes, letting his skills go to waste. He's cuttingly sarcastic, fairly bitter, and never seen without his beloved pink "kiss the cook" apron.

Beaufort
Beaufort is a gentleman's pirate. He comes from a long line of men who made themselves very wealthy in their buccaneering careers. This means that he's been fairly spoiled in his life, and has a romanticised view of life as a pirate that doesn't always match up with reality.

Francis
Francis is a true sailor, having been at sea for most of his life. As such, he is the one to turn to when a piece of seafaring lore or legend is needed, and has a lot of salty old stories about his past. Since a certain incident in a waterfront tavern many years ago, however, he tends to keep to himself a little more.

Scurvy Guy
Scurvy Guy probably had a real name once, not that anyone cares. It's likely he's forgotten it. He's never eaten an orange in his life, and is afflicted with the itchy sores and rotten teeth of scurvy. This doesn't seem to bother him too much, but rest assured, it bothers the others. Scurvy smells bad.

Other Characters

Burke
Burke is a born criminal. He's too much even for a band of pirates, and has spent the majority of the voyage locked in the ship's brig. He's pretty happy with this state of affairs, though. He gets free food, a roof over his head and he doesn't even have to work for it. The crew would rather maroon him or drop him off at some port, but Burke, while not overly blessed with brains, has a wily streak which allows him to get one over on the captain when he needs to. Not that it takes much.

The Lone Terror
Sad, deluded, hopeless. These are all words which The Lone Terror would unequivocally not apply to himself. The very definition of optimism, no feat is too large for him. He plans to seize control of a large ship, and use this to gather his own fleet and become the most feared pirate in all the world. The fact that he is one man in a rowing boat does not affect this plan one little bit.
Funnily enough, his optimism and self-confidence seem to carry him further than one would expect in most ventures.

Rosalyn
Sexy, brash and successful, this fiery redhead seems blessed by fate. Seemingly proficient at everything she turns her hand to, the one thing she appears to lack is tact. She has a tendency to rub her victories in the faces of those less fortunate, and is not the most subtle of girls. Confident, and with a real love of life, she is a million miles away from the sweet young girl Matey sailed away from several months back. Reluctant to wait for him to return, she stole some of her father's money and chartered a ship to follow him. Her life on the sea has given her experiences she never thought possible, and she is blissfully happy as a pirate. It remains to be seen, however, whether her brash and sometimes hurtful personality  (particularly to Nik) is merely a lack of subtlety, or something more purposeful.

Current Storyline
(These will be added as they are introduced)

Hendrik Van Der Decken
A cursed pirate, hundreds of years old, he is forced to sail the seven seas with no rest, save for one day every hundred years. On this day he is allowed to come ashore to seek the love of a woman who will cease his wandering. This is the only way his curse can be broken, however a ghost whose only contact with women is one day in every century does tend to have a little trouble finding a date.
He and his crew were cursed through his pride- he was determined to round the Cape of Good Hope, even making a pact with the devil in order to do so. The resultant centuries at sea with only his crew for company have humbled him somewhat, making him a somewhat cynical, self-deprecating man. He's also lonely, as any living person who sees his ship is marked to die within the week.

I told you there'd be more later, Mister Impatient. Wink

Edit: I don't count Burke among the main crew as he's very limited. He only shows up very occasionally, can't be seen, and has to stay in his little room. He's more a gimmick than a character. ^_^

Also 7 is a nice number for the main crew. Means I can do the Flogging Molly-inspired Seven Deadly Sins picture I've been planning forever. ^_^

I DEMAND MORE BURKINGS!

I am very sorry, but if you will not bring Burke the love and attention he desires, I believe at the very least, you should permit him his own spinoff series.

Poor Burke. Unloved like a redheaded stepchild. He probably has a pet monkey, that's why you nasty English discriminate. Only Irish pirates had monkeys!

What about the -chicken-, or the parrot that does a really good chicken impression?

Focus!  There are important, and utterly key characters being left out!
