Slack.

I figured enough people are probably into TDS that we might as well have a thread dedicated to it.  I remember some conversations about it a while ago where it was mentioned that it's a silly show or that it was useless or something like that.  I think this clip shows what it's really good at:  holding a mirror up to the (American) media and showing just how bad they are.  Feel free to discuss.

If you need any help embedding clips either check out the help thread for that kind of stuff here or PM me.

FINE!  I'll be the only one to post here.  At least it amuses me.  Wink

So is it just this administration that seems so intent on using the same phrases and sound bytes over and over again?  Is that something that comes from Karl Rove or is this used by basically all politicians.

It's a joke. Laugh.

All politicians.

If you have a soundbyte, you don't have to have a policy.  If you have a policy, you don't need an opinion.  If you have an opinion, you don't need to have a debate.  If you have a debate, your constituents don't need to think for themselves.

So you push a soundbyte so your constituents don't think for themselves.

It all boils down to responsibility and accountability.  Politions want the power without the accountability.  The less your constituents think, the less they try to make you accountable for being a power-hungry, greedy asshat.
