Actually, you'd think that with all the concern over energy, they might actually want to keep a handful around; or maybe give them to other places. More remote places, where they may not have regular, cheap electricity, but hopefully have available paper.... *ponders*

So he doesn't weld or glue the pieces together... how do they stay then?  Also, if you notice, the first sculpture is anatomically correct... which just makes it creepier.

It's rare that Putin loses out in any popularity contest at home — where he is widely admired for having restored national pride and stability after the difficult post-Soviet years under Boris Yeltsin.

Restored national pride and stability... hmm... who does that remind me of?

Footpath sign error 'a real balls up'
Monday, 08 September 2008

A now infamous road sign for Old Bullock Road in Wellington suburb Highbury, mistakenly renamed Old Bollock Rd, is expected to be taken down over the next two days – if it lasts that long.

Wellington City Council spokesman Richard MacLean said the error was "astounding" and someone had obviously not read the old sign too clearly.

"I'm all for better signage for footpaths but at least they should get the name right," said one angry resident.

"This is a real balls up."

Mr MacLean said the new sign would be replaced and that the council had already had numerous calls from people wanting to get their hands on it.

"We're having an informal discussion now about what to do with the sign when it finally does come down. . .anything could happen cause clearly it's an instant classic and a trophy."

Mr MacLean said he expected the sign to be taken down in the next couple of days as long as no one got there first.
