Pictures of Miniatures

I know EBH and I both play Warmachine, and that several other people here play WH40K. So I thought I'd put up a place where we can post pictures of our little toy soldiers.
First up, my second unit of Greylord Ternion, as well as both my Berserkers.

It's nice to see some Warmachine love out there! (Even if you
are
Khadoran scum.

My son really wants to play Warmachine, and seeing these makes me think buying them for him and painting them would somehow be in his best interest.
Until I see how much they cost. Then I decide "screw him, he can read a book".

Choc - Privateer Press just released a new two-player starter box that might be exactly what you're looking for. It's still kind of expensive at $99, but it's got about $200 worth of miniatures in it, as well as a rulebook, some introductory fluff, and so on. If you check out some online retailers, you might be able to find it at a lower price. I think miniaturemarket.com ships to the UK, and Maelstrom Games is located there. The armies in the box are completely playable, as well.
Haok - Cygnar, eh? I'm confident that the Motherland can kick your asses, no worries.

Choc:
I feel ya on the price thing. Privateer Press does what it can to keep the costs low (sponsoring small-army newbie leagues, making big minis out of plastic instead of metal, etc), but it is still an expensive hobby.

Siege and PCaine have something to say about that... (Though the Motherland
has
kicked my ass many times, lol.)
I haven't played or painted any WM since May or so. It's nice to get the figs out of the back of the closet.

I had my first game in several months a couple weeks ago, I know what you mean. My painting table actually has minis on it again! Next up: a Koldun Lord and some Winterguard re-paints. I've found that stripping and repainting my own minis is actually not bad - it allows me to update the unit colors and also keeps me from spending too much on new minis.
Speaking of, I got pics of Zerkova:

When I actually finish painting a model then I'll be all over this thread. Until then I'd just like to say that the Nightmare Empire of Cryx owns you all. Seriously, can you get any cooler than undead zombie pirates ruled by a dragon? I think not!

EBH: I always get tempted by the lure of Cryx when I look at their models. It's my dream to one day own a massive horde of mechanithralls and helljacks, with Terminus laughing at the back. PP has a great model range for the most part, but they simply *excel* at doing undead.... Also, I need Alexia. And a crapload of Risen.
Kyle: zombies! What range are those from?

Cryx is awesome. I used to have a Cryx Satyxis army, which went the way of the Ebay along with my Skorne when I became poor.
oh knee: I love fielding Alexia. Can't wait to try out the new mounted version.

They're a mix of two of Mantic's ranges (
http://www.manticgames.com/
), the Zombies and the Ghouls, which are made to mix and match parts. I picked up a few sprues of each for like $10. I'm probably going to order some more in November.

I found minis depicting Nazis riding dinosaurs today. Your arguments are now all invalidated.

A lot of Warmachine communities do tournaments just to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. They're usually called Breast Cancer Brawls, and it's all about seeing how much the community can raise to help the cause. Painting your miniatures or armies in pink is encouraged, and some people really go all out. The bigger communities often have auctions for entire armies of pink miniatures, with the proceeds going to the cause.
Another thing that happens this time of year are the Foodmachine tournaments, to collect cans of food for those in need. Cheating is encouraged, and you can "spend" cans of food to get extra die rolls, have in-game benefits, and so on. Basically, the more cans you bring, the more you can cheat. There are communities of Warmachine players that regularly raise over 2,000 cans of food for those less fortunate.
It's one of the reasons I love this game and the community it creates so much.

Yeah, these things get pretty epic. My hometown's Privateer crew brought in over $1,000 in this year's BCB, with prize support from Reaper, Privateer and Chessex, among others. (That's the smallish Bellingham, WA crew for clarification... I'm pretty sure Boston could top that easily.)
Nice job on Karchev, btw.

I suppose, depending on which charity it goes to, you guys may have indirectly bought me office supplies.
