Name: Garrett Smith

Age: 50

Physical Description: Aged, prematurely, Garrett looks like a much older man. He's stooped in his shoulders and his face is a mass of wrinkles and scowl lines. Solidly build this man doesn't let whatever events in his life that have lead him to be here, in such a rundown state stop him from performing his duties, accordingly, he's relatively well muscled, underneath his coveralls and flannel shirt.

Personality: Taciturn and openly hostile to most people. Manages to hold most of it in around children.

History: "Fuck off." No one is quite sure how this American came to be on the isle, or how he wound up working for the prison, or where he goes on Tuesdays. He's certainly not talking about it.

Items Currently on his Person: Leather work gloves; tool belt w/hammer(16oz{He uses american metrics, damnit}), screw drivers, tape measure, 10 12" zip ties, and a few energy bars; keys to grounds keeper's shed; swiss army knife; wallet w/small amount of cash, two credit cards, and a photo of a much younger version of him napping in a hammock with a woman of approximately the same age; Grass clippings. Lots and lots of grass clippings. Fuckin' grass.

Actually, scratch my chaplain. I already play a friendly Russian guy in Wolf Princess and I'm getting tired of intentionally speaking bad English. I'm gonna make a new character. I'll probably be a prisoner or something since no one else is.

A little one dimensional, but here he is.


Name: Roger Blore (Inmate 156)

Age: 26

Physical Description: Roger is a large white, bald, muscular, scary looking mofo. His body is covered in tattoos and scars, most of which he gave himself.

Personality: The purpose of Roger's existence is to be the biggest, baddest guy around. He has to be respected. He works constantly to garner that respect through fear and intimidation.
He believes that he is entitled to whatever he wants by virtue of being bigger and stronger than those he takes from.

History: Roger has been a bully his entire life. His father taught him to always stand up for himself and take what he wants from life. He grew up doing just that.
Roger has commited a number of crimes over the years, including, assault, rape, arson, and murder. He has always had a strange fixation for power drills and tries to include them in whatever activity he's doing. It was the DNA found on his drill bits that were key in getting him put away for life.
As a prisoner, Roger continues to bully those around him. He heads a prominent prison gang known as the Bloodcocks. The guards tend to keep a close eye on him.

Items: As one of the more closely watched and regulated prisoners, Roger possesses nothing more than his orange jumpsuit and his bare hateful hands.

Skills: Roger is skilled at intimidating others, hurting others, and operating a power drill. He has found many occasions to combine the three. He has, on a few occasions, killed with a power drill alone.

Name: Jennifer Corby.  She does not answer to Jen, or Jenny, or anything like that.  Just Jennifer.
Age: 9

Physical Description: Jennifer is a teensy wee girl with shoulder-length dark brown hair, straight as a ruler, and big, pale blue eyes.  Her skin is light and freckly, and she wears blue jeans and a green-and-yellow swirly top and blue jacket.  She looks just slightly off, like she's not paying attention to you or to anything; she doesn't make eye contact when she speaks to you, she never seems like she's listening.  And she's very often fiddling with little bits of metal: heavy screws with bolts, or those little twisted-nail tavern puzzle things.

Personality: Jennifer is autistic, albeit relatively mildly so.  She has trouble following fast-paced conversation, doesn't like to be touched, and has problems communicating.  Her "comfort action" is fiddling with metal: when she is nervous or distressed, she will twist around tavern puzzles, or screw and unscrew one of the large bolts she has on her at all times.  At home, she has a tub full of ball bearings that she likes to run her hands through.

She is quiet, awkward, and likes looking at the ocean more than she likes talking to people.  Except maybe her father, but she doesn't even look him in the eyes when they speak.

History: Jennifer's story begins with her father, Joshua Corby, a single dad whose wife had died when their daughter was a toddler.  A bit over two years ago, when Jennifer had just turned seven, Joshua went out in the morning to run a few errands.  He didn't come home that night, or the night after.  It wasn't until his manager called from the office (he was a work-from-home technical writer) asking where her father was and when he would start answering his e-mails that someone realized Jennifer was home alone, and had been for two days, unable to take the initiative of calling the police.

When they tracked him down, he'd killed a convenience store clerk in a gunpoint robbery and wounded two passersby, stolen a car, and made a run for it.  They caught him asleep in his car by the side of the road.

No one really understood what had driven him to it: he'd been a really ordinary guy, dependable and everything.  Money was tight for Joshua and Jennifer, but they were scraping by, and he could still afford her doctors and medication and special school.  But when he appeared in court, looking broken and hopeless, all he could say was, "We needed the money."  He was sentenced to twenty years, and Jennifer put into the care of the state.

Jennifer ended up with a foster family that had three other foster kids and not really enough time to take care of her.  She continued with her special school but grew more and more withdrawn, much to the school's dismay.  In an effort to stop the decline, they arranged for her to be able to visit her father every week.  It seemed to help, but she still wouldn't talk to others without serious prodding.

Inventory:

• Four different small iron-ring tavern puzzles. One of them is a caterpillar.
• Plain lavender backpack.
• Lunch bag containing a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (Edit: Monched!), orange, and juice box (Edit: Slurrrrrped!).
• Jacket, gloves, and scarf.
• Plastic cowboy figurine one of the other foster kids threw at her.
• Piece of paper with "65 98 23 14" written on it.
• Mark White's skull, with '49' written on it.
• Short-handled shovel (wielded in one hand!)
• Some hard candies, found in the church
• Some Jujubees from the movie theater
• Key to the prison haunted attic!
• Makeshift sling and pocketful of pound coins (Ammo: 14)
• Heavy padded jacket, grown-up size (+1 to defense)
• Shotgun and shells (Ammo: 50)
• Hunting knife

Skills: Jennifer is small.  Very small.  She isn't strong or fast, but she can fit in small areas, and actually likes to do so.  It's calming to her, like fiddling with her toys.  She also tends to be hyper-focused and good with tavern-puzzles.

She doesn't get scared easily, mostly because she doesn't understand danger very well.

And she's pretty cute.  That's about it.

Also, a brief thing about her dad, just for flavah.  I'd prefer him to be an NPC type.

Age: 34

Physical Description: Skinny, messy dark hair, dark eyes.  Medium height.  Pretty unremarkable.  A little grizzly from not shaving.

Also, he recently got sucked into the mist and is probably dead. If not WORSE THAN DEAD.

Personality: Kind of a jerk.  He doesn't really care about anyone except Jennifer (and himself).

Name: Sylus McMartin

Position: Prisoner 013

Age: 68

Physical Description: Surprisingly sprightly for someone so old as him, though he's bald, lost a few teeth, and wears thick glasses. His hands are steady as ever though, and he's still sharp as a razor.

Personality: Sylus is a old man filled with regret. He's quiet, and apologetic, but he's no one's bitch. He'd prefer to be left alone.

History: He used to be a simple safe cracker. And he was damn good at it, one of the best in the business. For years, he pulled bank jobs and never got caught. He was wearing gloves before people worried about fingerprints, and he never got caught. He never carried a gun, never made threats. Simply cracked safes, got the loot and left. Then it happened.

He knew he should have turned down the job. He should never have gotten involved with the IRA. A simple bank job turned into a shootout with the police. A dozen civilians were killed including four children. A dozen police officers were killed. The entire crew was killed. Only one person was left to stand accountable for the slaughter, and he had never even touched a gun.

Sylus was convicted of 30 counts of accessory to murder for the deaths of the civilians, police, and crew members, then sentenced to life in prison. He's been in Cormorant Island Prison since 1985, slowly rotting away, waiting for the end to come.

He knew Mark White and shared a cell with him for a brief time. They became friends, of sorts, till Mark snapped and tried to kill him.

Slyus is a model prisoner, and has been there for so long that he has a few more privileges. He almost never gets searched, and he never causes any problems.
