I have been thinking of having a mac'n'cheese night. Make giant batch of mac'n'cheese. Serve with fixings, like peas, chopped pepperoni, steamed broccoli bits, tabasco, fried spam chunks, chopped spinach, diced red peppers, bacon...

Haok is also the best snuggler I have ever snuggled with. True facts.

Also, I think I shall add to the mac'n'cheese fixins buffet: sauteed mushrooms, scallions, tuna, and onions and garlic sauteed in olive oil with some herbs.

Question that came up last night. See, I had a pet hedgehog once upon a time. (Truefact, her name was Hodgepodge.) And I was telling my boyfriend about grooming time with Hodgepodge, which occasionally required tweezers, towels, a tooth brush, nail clippers, styptic powder and leather gloves. (No matter how gentle I tried to be, she did not like grooming time, and I was a teenager who did not like getting pricked with angry hedgehog quills.)

So I wondered, does a hobbity hedgehog require such tools and care at grooming time? Or would a nice bath with some wine and other niceties work?

Normal Tamsin Showertime:

Aaaahhhh hot water. Mrple.
Shampoo. Currently Tea Tree lavender & tea tree oil. Repeat if necessary.
Conditioner, massaging in well. Currently same type as shampoo.
Regard cleaning supplies. If there is motivation, apply St. Ives collagen & elastin (ie, make my skin survive the dry winter stuff) to poof, lather, wash self thoroughly. In the summer, this is Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap. If there is no motivation, take bar soap (currently oatmeal & honey), and wash the Important Bits: face, neck, pits, ladybits area, feets, hands.
Ahhhh hot waaaater....
Pumice stone on the feets if necessary.
Exit shower. Comb out hair. Apply smidge of goopy stuff that keeps things smooth and unfrizzy and kinda manageable.
Debate hair dryer. Generally, say fuck it and wrap head in towel.
Q-tips! Eee!
Examine nails and eyebrows and things. Apply small metal tools if necessary.
Towel off by blotting. Rubbing is to be discouraged, because...
Apply lotions and other things as necessary, because Tamsinskin is fine, fair, and fragile like cherry blossom petals or the thinnest English bone china teacup. Stupid high-maintenance skin.
Wrap self in bathrobe, add slippers/warm socks if necessary.
Once a week, add mint face mask at end, so as to frighten boyfriend.

Bathtime takes many more steps and is Serious Business. A scrubby brush and a pitcher/large cup are involved, as well as salts, perfumes, booze, maybe candles and music... yeah.

Your list of steps is definitely helpful, but I tend to be more of a visual learner. I think a video of the Tamsin-showering process would be particularly educational.
