What's For Dinner?

Hey, I know I can't be the only one lacking inspiration some days for what to eat for dinner.

What are YOU having?

Oven fried chicken, onion rolls, steamed broccoli, and maybe some cucumbers tossed with dill or whatever else is in the vegetable bin.

I'm debating making this:  http://www.food.com/recipe/west-african-peanut-soup-134219  But it might be too hot for that, so I may make some kind of borscht.
A friend disappointed me a short while ago. She e-mailed a message with the subject line 'Trap Neuter Return' and the message had nothing to do with the Duggar family. *sad* -Hippie

Today was our first CSA share day. We got quite a bit of lettuce and arugula so we made salad. There were also some apples so we ate a couple of those, and rounded out the meal with some leftover scalloped potatoes from last night.
My 2¢.

A chicken/broccoli/cheddar hot pocket, with a few handfuls of baked cheddar and sour cream ruffles, and a fuzzy navel wine cooler.  Can you say "HEALTHY!" ?

I made cold shrimp pasta salad; garlic and ginger sauteed shrimp, whole wheat rotini noodles, and some frozen veggie mix at the back of my freezer along with some vinaegrette.

IMO hamburger helper is at least 11X better than that utterly disgusting Kraft stuff. I suppose you could get it and just use the noodles and make your own sauce, but that yellow powder is possibly the most awful food after brussels sprouts and snails.

No, no. Delux. Not the radioactive powder cheese. The Delux sauce, which comes in a foil packet and is actually goopy-cheese-stuff not the white powder packet you have to mix with stuff, actually tastes cheesy. Not as good as from scratch, but... well. I'm really just not that skilled. :-/

Buwhuuuuh?

Boil up your mac - Barilla penne is perfect. Once done, drain and put into a 13x9 baking dish. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

Heat butter in skillet. Get shredded cheese, about 1 lb of feta, sharp cheddar, and colby jack.

Add a pinch of flour, whisk until lightly combined. Add about 1/4 cup of milk and wait until lightly bubbly. Add the shredded cheese a little bit at a time and get it completely melted. STIR CONSTANTLY. If it gets grainy, use a hand blender to stir that fucker into submission. Pour over mac, toss to coat. Add bread crumbs. Heat at 350 degree for 20m or until bubbly/crusty. Serve immediately.

Don't you DARE tell me you can't make from scratch again. If I can do this shitfaced drunk, you can do it sober.

You are TOO my monkey.

That said, Finnegan, Andros and I are flying solo. The boys had cat and dog food, respectively. Not having a lot of appetite means I'm not terribly hungry, but they went through an INSANE amount of food.

Me: salami, feta, pepperoncini, bread & olive oil, salad and a chunk of apple pie.

aaaaaaand tomorrow, I'm making goat, beef, and chicken kebabs, lemon rice soup, pita bread, baklava. Admittedly, I've been watching Man Vs. Food and I swear, the oyster challenges look really, really, REALLY good right now.

Although I'm not sure I should or would consume fifteen dozen oysters at a sitting....
