Blue beard
I seem to be going through a second (or seventh) puberty, and am horny enough to be really distracted from life in general. My roommates constantly At It (like right now) isn't helping much.
 
I don't generally put my sexual urges very high on the priorities list, but when they interfere with what IS high on that list...
 
Shit, I think I must have got a dose of Puritanism when I wasn't looking. When the hell did I become a repressed horndog? *sad*
 
T'be honest, I guess I'd rather have a partner an' love an' all that. I feel like I am unlikely to find such a thing via websites, however, and a lessening of the pressure, as it were, might make it easier to consider such things.
 
Any recommendations?
 
You may not believe this, but it's not an easy thing to ask...

Well, I've never gotten laid from using PoF. I guess that's because I'm not pushy and/or am completely socially inept.

As for being spammed by losers...that's the pitfall of free sites. At least it is for the women.
Men like me tend to get ignored on sites like PoF. Seriously, I don't know why I still have a profile up there.

It was already mentioned, but I do highly recommend okcupid.com. I dont' know if Clever is still here, but he led me to it ages ago. Though it's gotten a little cluttered with journals and bloglike things, its premise is still to match you with people you want who also want you. Hope that made sense...

The way it works:
-create a profile with all the generic "who am I" and intrests stuff
-answer multiple choice questions (mostly user created) with one of four responses
-choose what your ideal partner would answer to that question
-indicate how much it matters to you whether or not your ideal person answers the way you'd like them to
-after answering a bajillion or so of these questions, your match percentage with others will become more accurate

There appears to be a high concentration of geeky (and generally intelligent and spiffy) people on there, I think anyone who likes the people on these forums would feel comfortable there.

My experience: I met a guy from okcupid, we dated for a while, he ended up being the first guy I had sex with, we're no longer dating, but still friends.
