Thought I'd have a look around the site, finally. Mostly, I'm just lurking and exposing myself (*snicker*) to new ideas and possibilities. I'll not be looking to meet people IRL for quite some time.. if at all. But it's a cool place so far for chit chatting about a different aspect of my life that I'm less willing to share in other places online.

Also, been reading up on this "violet wand" thing, and I'm intrigued by the possibilities...

Sort of a chicken and egg situation... Fetlife could be a good intro to the community, but can I join without already being a member of the community? *half sigh*

Of course you can. There're definitely settings on profiles for "I'm not actually doing any of this; just curious about it" etc.

Those and TENS units sound interesting , though the warning of "don't use them above the waist for fear of heart attacks" does sound rather intimidating

I dunno.. those warnings are kinda what's getting me interested.

Actually, I've been reading up on them and the idea of upping my already fairly decent oral sex game by using indirect violet wand contact seems VERY intriguing to me.

The primary use I've heard of for TENS units involves using 'em on the lower back for labour pains. XD It didn't occur to me that it could be sexually implemented. I guess I'm still a bit naive!

Also I'd add, that we all learn something new every day, your ability to admit that which you don't know is admirable. This could fork into a tips and tricks thread perhaps?
My "Hmm I didn't know that, is..." at the right moment, slaps to sensitive spots which would typically be Bad, can be Very Good Things.

But YMMV, negotiate 1st, etc.

And yet, I'd expect that to be manifested as curious about "fellatio" or "cunnilingus" rather than just the blanket term.

That said, I suspect that even on FetLife there are a lot (relatively) of people who, for one reason or another (most likely having to do with lack of (willing) partners), have never given and/or never received oral sex. So perhaps it really is just what it says it is.

So here's a question: any stories of awkwardness in tripping over members you really needed to not know about? I just had a conversation with my dad about how best to keep the fact that we're both members from being weird. I feel really, really lucky that I tripped over his interest in such things many years ago, so I wasn't blindsided.

I may need a therapist.

ETA: conversation is ongoing. This is fucking weird. Not uncomfortable, strangely, but the sort of story you tell your friends. Which is, I guess, exactly what I'm doing.
