I'll add my vote to the "keep the name" pile.  Besides all of the previously named reasons, Zetachannel is where I started talking to my wife and started my family, so it has a significant personal appeal to me to keep it as it is.

Firstly, I see nothing wrong with the Zch name as is.

Secondly, however, I think debate is a good thing and I'd like to open it up with a serious suggestion.

So, just to be different (because I like to be wherever possible) I would like, before I vanish for 2 weeks, to suggest something that invokes how I personally see and feel about Zch, and how I think a few others might, if they think about it. The name is available (surprisingly). I'm sure I'll get beef for it, but here goes nothing:

I have persimmons.
I like zetachannel....i refer to it as just zeta and not zeech though. I'm with Adam though, I never did really understand the name. I just got used to it after a while. It has to be easily abbreviated.

Oddly bringpie.com is taken, but bringpie.net is available. We could be BP!

I'm sure we could come up with some weird ungodly long descriptive acronym if we tried that's available.

I'm thinking that due to overwhelming support we're going to be stuck with Zch for a long time.  However, Adding

as a board within the forum might be a good idea.  we could move the venting thread there and put in opinions, racist jokes, haiku, and peaceful moments.  The idea would be to go there and blow off steam on one side, and relax and share your zen on the other.

The idea's been played with before. I personally don't like it, because I think that Chatter fits it fine, and with the number of boards we have already, moving emotive stuff out of Chatter would make the place next to useless. Also I think a Feelings forum is just a shade too lj.

PS: I swear to god, if "pie" is in our name I'm leaving. The rest of the internet let go of pie like four or five years ago, guys.
