As you can see, some stuff has been moved around, and I've stripped out the gradients, replacing them with a dark blue colour scheme. It may change again, if I find one I like better.

Questions, comments, etc., on the new layout should go in replies to this news item.

I personally liked the silver look, though I understood the "contrast" points that were made. On the "under the logo captions" suggestions, this sprung to mind:

You know, it's because of this community that I'm *not* in Kansas any more.  Just so you know.

I like this better; the contrast issues were horrific for me.  Also, all the puffy whiteness looked kind of out of place, like it should be a Precious Moments forum discussing the CUUUUTEST new Angel Puppy figurines!  It was...girly and lacked a certain utilitarian feel.

This probably explains why sinic liked it so much.

Please, please, PLEASE make the "New" icon a little darker, to contrast with the rest of the page. I want to be able to see where new posts are, and white-on-grey makes that hard. Thanks a lot!

I second Peek's comment about the "New" icon being darker. Other than that, I really like the new layout and colors, more-so than the previous look, and WAY more than the silver one.

Oh yeah, those little squares in the right of the sidebar boxes? They shrink the boxes, and save the state in your login cookie. I'm also working on a way to hide the sidebar entirely. It's just a padding issue at this point.

I also don't seem to have a Quick Reply box. I'm running Firefox 3b5. I assume the quick reply would be at the bottom?
