Just so we can stop derailing the Wii thread, lets talk about the almighty Guitar Hero here!  Yay!

Regale me with your stories of incredible axegrinding and insufferable defeats at the feet of the Gods of Rock.  I promise I won't laugh!

After a long while absent of any Hero-ness at all, I pulled out my GH1 disc yesterday and, first go, slayed Bark At The Moon on Expert.  [puts up the horns]

And seriously, Tenacious D.  WHERE ART THOU ALMIGHTY D?

Stairway's totally going to be in GHIII. You know it to be true.

Yes, that'll do.

I don't know, Zep is notorious for not releasing their rights to things.

My wishlist of GH3 is as follows:

The Kinks - Victoria
ELO - Anything, but Don't Bring Me Down seems the most likely candidate
Traveling Wilburies - End of the Line
ACDC - Again, anything but Thunderstruck would be one of the more fantastical choices
Sublime - What I Got, Santeria would work as well.
Tenacious D - Rock Your Socks, or Tribute.  Tribute would be the more popular choice.
The Who - Don't Get Fooled Again
Pixies - Where Is My Mind
Asia (shut up) - Heat of the Moment (i said shut up)
Journey - Don't Stop Believing
Night Ranger - Sister Christian

The majority of these are on the list simply for the factor of being songs that are conducive to the shoulderblade rubbing thing with Player 2 during co-op.

MOTORIIIIN'.  WHAT'S, YOUR, PRICE, FOR FLIGHT.  YOU'VE GOT, HIM, IN, YOOOOUR SIIIIIGHTS.

I wonder if there's an appropriate Johnny Cash song that could be included...

There will be no Stairway.  Good god it was bad enough they included Sweet Child of Mine.

If they put in another Stone Temple or Wolfmother tune, I'd be happy.  Or a Mike Stern number. [unf]

OH!

Gotta address the controversy.

Institutionalized: yea or nay?

What's the controversy, other than it's a bitch to play?  I haven't had a look around any of the GH communities at all...

The only problem I have with Institutionalized is the same problem I've got with a number of the tracks from GHII; they're not really well defined songs.  There's a lot of shredding and mashing, but only about half of the songs are real guitar anthems or have clear, decent guitar solos.

I liked the first one so much better.  Everything seems so much funner to play.

If there was some Zepplin on the next one I just might cream my pants. I'd also like some Alice in Chains. Maybe a Chilli Peppers song from back in the day. Something from the Pumpkins would be nice.  And make the Zelda Theme purchaseable just for kicks.

Resident Smart Mark

Oh, and the next game seriously needs some Pink Floyd. Maybe "One of These Days", or "Run Like Hell", or maybe "Learning to Fly".

And I forgot to mention more Black Sabbath. How could I possibly forget Black Sabbath. Iron Man and War Pigs are both great and a lot of fun to play. More could only be better.

Slack.

I really liked that they put in Trogdor as a hidden song.  Now they just need to find a way to get some Weeble stuff in as well.

[Spoilers] I love how after you finish your final set, the audience actually starts chanting "Freebird!"  and then the 17-brazilian "Are you really sure?" screens before you get to play the song are hilarious.

Trogdor is awesome. It's the reason I bought the game the day it came out.

Level Three Law Student

GH3 is not being made by Harmonics, so there might be a chance for another studio to take a shot at licensing Stairway. *hopeful*

Oh, and here's my small, side lament for having to watch a lot of the people I know at Demiurge studios go to the Rock Band playtest.  It was so sad! They had so much fun... right across the street!

At least Rock Band is coming out for the PS2 so Sony doesn't own my soul by forcing me to buy a PS3.

Yeah, you can have it 3 days earlier. You guys usually have to wait 6 months for everything else. Hell Yes!

I had my xbox 360 flashed so that I can play back up games.

Why is this important?
Games 'leak' to the internet a couple weeks before release in stores, which means I should have GHIII early next month.
