Dead.

I'm waiting for GH4, because Game Informer just had a big feature on it, and it's basically gonna be Rock Band, only better. The guitar (which they can't reveal yet for legal reasons because they're still working on patenting some part of it) will have *some* new feature that makes the game even better. It will work with the older guitars also, and you'll be able to complete the game, but you won't get the full experience.

Also, you'll have a song creator mode in GH4. And the newer (more sturdy) drum kit will have 3 base drums and two higher "cymbal" drums, plus the pedal. Basically, the game is gonna be awesome Tongue

Captain

I'd seen a video posted by this guy a few months ago when he had it around 98% or 99%... it was ridiculous then, this is just outrageous! What's strange is that he was running it at a faster speed in the last video too... I wonder why he insists on turning up the speed. I don't understand how he moves his other hand up to help on some of the hammer-ons either... but it's pretty amazing either way.

If it weren't for the opening of that song, I might be able to beat it. I can do the rest of the song (though one part towards the end is dicey) but starting off with that tough part already in the yellow zone with no star power, I'll never get it done! It cramps my hand up too.

Interesting. GH4 for Wii will have downloadable tracks. I might give that 'buy a 360 for Rock Band' plan a miss, then... unless the GH4 track list is really poor I'd only be buying the 360 for Still Alive.

I hope they make the GH3 downloadables we missed available for Wii GH4 though. Or at least put out a bonus disc or something. I WANT THAT DROPKICK MURPHYS PACK, DAMMIT!

Guitar Hero: On Tour
"For the first time, handheld gamers have the freedom to unleash their inner rock star anytime, anywhere with Guitar Hero: On Tour. Utilising the revolutionary Guitar Hero Guitar Grip peripheral that fits snugly into the Nintendo DS and a unique Guitar Hero pick-stylus, Guitar Hero: On Tour brings a new dimension to handheld gaming and gives fans the ability to shred along with their favorite tunes with complete portability. "

One of my co-workers brought this in today (it was released Sunday). I wanted to make sure people knew about it. Peace!

The full set list for Aerosmith has been revealed. Amazing they kept it quiet so long, the game's out on Thursday!

Although I originally planned to get this - a second guitar plus a bunch of extra songs: what's not to like? - I might hold off on it in the name of not having a house full of plastic toy instruments. Because I'm definitely getting World Tour when it comes out, which will give me another guitar, a microphone and a drum set. That, plus the GH3 guitar, equals a complete set.

Which means I might just get that, and pick up Aerosmith as a game-only. No sense having a third guitar lying around unused once World Tour turns up.

Rock Band for the Wii is gobs of fun. Oddly enough I'm best at singing....which is really funny cause I'm a horrible singer.

Slack.

So I was poking around and saw that the wiki entry for Guitar Hero World Tour has a track list up.

Holy. Shit.

I want this game so hard now. It's got such great classic tracks. The Joker. Purple Haze. Hotel-fucking-California. It's also got it's share of the new stuff like B. Y. O. B. and Crazy train.

Then there's the stuff you just don't expect like Beat It, No Sleep Til Brooklyn and this:

http://www.youtube.com/v/VnzXTGn3i58

I can't wait to see what people can do with the drums on that one.

...so I got to the point where I was trying to get my fifth star on Cult of Personality on Medium when my roommate showed me how to hammer on and lift off. I tried again using those, and still got four stars. Two more tries and I managed to get five easily.

Captain

I am actually disappointed in the new track list for Guitar Hero 4. There are definitely some classics in there but I'm disappointed that there's no Motley Crue or Guns N' Roses! I was hoping to see Paradise City in there and maybe something like Kickstart My Heart.

If one or both had been in the game, I'd probably have picked it up right away. Without them... I think I may just not buy it and play someone else's.

I've just been listening to some old, old recordings I unearthed while gathering my stuff together for my planned move in the next few weeks, and I've reached a conclusion.

Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero World Tour: I'll buy whichever of the two lets me have The March of the Black Queen first. No fantasy rock in the world has ever gone anywhere near that far over the top, and it's utterly, utterly glorious for it.

Bought Aerosmith today because it was on sale and came with the guitar.

It's not bad. Aerosmith are all right, but my favourite so far by fucking miles is Complete Control. If someone would care to produce a The Clash pack, I'd be enormously happy.

Just ordered World Tour - just the game. I've already got two guitars, a USB microphone won't be too hard to come by, and the drum kit can wait till the new year when I might actually have some money.

World Tour = win.

Especially the 'Create-A-Rocker' option. Ayanami Rei storming through 'Some Might Say'? Epic.

How's the hardness factor? Around that of GH3 or more like the previous incarnations?

It's toned down to Rock Band-ish levels of difficulty.
