Ugh...

Haven't actually played Wii Fit in a few days.  Oh, sure, I weighed myself yesterday (down 0.4 lbs from about three days ago), but I didn't do any exercises.

I'm quite glad to have unlocked some of the aerobics exercises, though it could do with more of 'em.  Still got the last one to go.  I've been horribly tired lately.  Last night my back was being excessively unreasonable (re: giving me actual fucking pain for no reason) as well.  Maybe tonight.  We'll see.  My heel's bugging me today, for some reason (I can't stand on it without it hurting... blurgh).  I will play it a few times this week, however.  I'll hate myself if I go more than a week without playing.

Oh, and sinic: no, it doesn't.  The only thing it keeps track of, after exercising, is how long you've been playing for.  The longer you play, the more you unlock.  It all unlocks in a set order, however, so there's no choosing which activities you want to unlock first.  I still haven't done any of the strength-training yet.

Which I should.  I tried a few push-ups on my own the other day.  It's sad, really: I wasn't even able to do 10.

I want Wii Fit so bad, I think I can score it by the end of this week if I aim right...

So, you're playing a bunch of shooting games to practice... Hm... What's this glowing red spot on my ches<BANG!>

I have persimmons.

I adore Wii Fit. In addition to the exercises, it allows you to set weigh loss goals and has some amusing banter when you first log in some days.

The exercises use a wide variety of muscles. As you unlock each thing, you have more options as far as what exercises you want to focus on. I found it easy to play for an hour or more each day without realizing I'd been playing that long. Of course, a week of playing an average of an hour a day made me stupid sore....and I had the hardest time figuring out exactly what exercises cause the soreness.

I'm a fan of the aerobic exercises the most. Some of the strength exercises are just mean. Hahaha. I do wish it gave you some sort of calorie count. I think that's the only thing it's really missing.

I go to the gym on a regular basis. Wii Fit creatively works a lot of smaller muscles that I definitely miss at the gym, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten sore. I have noticed myself adjusting my center of balance through the day consciously now, since I know where it is supposed to be, and I think that possibly because of that my feet and back haven't been hurting nearly as much. So I think it's definitely helping my posture and balance. If you aren't a hard core gym addict, I think this is a good option. It's fun, you can pretty much choose your intensity...and activities like Free Step let you use the remote to keep a beat while stepping and watching regular TV, instead of only interacting with the game, which is also really cool.

I'm a fan.

The Sociopathic Queen Of Evil

This finally got set up over the weekend.  I boxed for an hour and a half when I got home yesterday.

This morning, I hurt.  A lot.

BUT SO MUCH FUN!

Quick question:

Anyone tried any of the Wii-ware stuff that just dropped today?  I'm infuriatingly curious about the Crystal Chronicles game "My Life As A King", but I'm a bit wary about spending 1500 points on it.

But at the same time...

I may not be able to resist the siren-song of a Square-Enix game, even if there's no combat, only city building.

My wife downloaded and has been playing Lost Winds and My life as a King, and enjoying both. But she's been playing more Lost Winds.

I'd like a Wii Fit, but I'm not willing to pay nearly 2x the MSRP of 89.99 for a copy. I'll wait until more stores have it in stock, and pick it up then. Until then, now that our housemate has moved out of our basement, we can actually start playing Wii Sports again, and I'm working out with that again, for yay!

I camped out Best Buy (well, not really camped out; I asked when they were getting more and showed up a bit before they opened to get in line) and got mine Sunday. It's not impossible to get; it took them about 30 minutes to sell out.

Smile

I LOVE IT.

Slack.

Though Wii Fit + hot, humid Boston afternoon = semi-suck.  I'm sure it was much better to play at night.

It was still hot and humid, but not so bad. I foresee myself taking many cool showers this summer...

Slack.

Our TV are still dead.  They're going to try replacing a PCB in it and see if that helps, but first they have to order the part and blah, blah, blah.

The guy commented on the ancient-ness of my TV as well saying he didn't see many tube TVs anymore.  That made me feel special.  Wink

Sinic, when Z and her roomies helped me to move, they all laughed at my ancient TV.  And my records.

Not that I blame them.

Z, what does the Wii fit entail?  Now that ours is hooked up, of course Kathy and I want every game under the sun, but this is one game she and I both agree on.  (IE, she wants American Idol Wii, and I want Lego Star Wars)

It requires some effort to get, and $90. What you get is a lurvely product with fitness, balance, and flexibility exercises, and tracking tools for your own use. AND IT IS CUTE.

Go to www.wiifit.com and just look at some of the videos. Smile If your schedule clears up enough that you can come over some time you can check ours out, also.

On Monday I get off the bus back from Glastonbury and on my way from the bus station to the train station I'm buying Brawl. This goes without saying. I'll probably pick up Okami and Pro Evo at some point in the summer.

After that, though... what are we looking at? I don't know of anything big for the second half of the year. Anything to fill in the gap until GH: World Tour, or am I going back to the PC?
