Wow, I just wonder if it will have metal gear or resident evil on it.  Those were my primary reasons for going with a playstation 2, of course the way things go I won't be buying any next gen consoles for at least two or three more years, so I'll have plenty of time to see what comes out for it.

Sorry, Ramsus, but for your RE and Metal Gear fixes, you'll probably have to stick with Sony (except for the downloading of the original Metal Gear from the NES days).

Metal Gear Solid 4 is pretty much a launch title for the PS3 (due out December 1st in Japan).  And Resident Evil 5 is currently only slated for the 360 and the PS3.

Me?  Wii first, then save up and wait for the PS3 to go down in price.

Hmm... y'know... the name does kinda grow on ya.

On the question of the metal knight character... looks like he's from a Kirby game. (unless we're talking about a character who's not shown in the preview Lorelei posted, then I'm completely clueless instead of partially clueless)

Gamestop and EB games will be taking preorders for both the WII and the PS3 starting in September.  Niether NOA nor Sony wants to deal with the huge waiting list fiasco that was the XBox 360 launch.

My mother-in-law works for Wal-mart. They frown upon employees trying to buy up the goods before the customers at her store though. The discount would be cool, but it'll probably be easier to get one by preorder at EB Games.

Quite aside from the Wii, the DS Lite is out in .uk next month!

I want Mario Kart. And I want Animal Crossing. I want them real bad. But I've been waiting for the DS Lite to come out...

Oh, and Kawashima's Brain Training. And that Wario Ware game. And New Super Mario Bros. And DBZ Supersonic Warriors 2... oh, OK, OK, I fucking want Nintendogs as well, you happy?

Don't be so ashamed, phobos.  I want a DS Lite as well, and Nintendogs is one of the games I want for it.  As well as Mario Kart.  And Animal Crossing.  And Super Mario 64 DS, plus New Super Mario Bros.  Oh, and the Castlevania game.

Oh, and Lorelei, as long as I don't physically set one aside for me, I don't see there being any problems with me buying one on or near its release date.  Maybe I'll just book that day off and wait in line outside the store or something... heh.  (don't laugh, there was a lineup at 3am for the 360's release, and we had all of ten or fifteen units; at least with the Wii it sounds like we just might be getting a half-decent number, from reports)

16 Launch Titles for the Wii including Twilight Princess, Metriod Prime, Red Steel and more

Just thumbing through to see which I want to pre-order when I order the system.  The Zelda game will support 16x9 aspect ratio so that's good.  Doesn't look like Mario Galaxy or Brawl will be launch titles, though they may just not have announced them yet.

So what are you looking forward to getting at launch?
